Desfiladero del Tajo
A Spectacular Walk Through Ronda's Famous Gorge
Ronda is famous for its breathtaking Puente Nuevo bridge, which towers above the dramatic El Tajo gorge. But did you know that you can also admire this spectacular landscape from below?
Since September 2026, the complete walking route has been open to visitors. You can now walk from Ronda's historic centre through the gorge towards the Padre Jesús neighbourhood, close to the Arab Baths.
The Camino del Desfiladero del Tajo offers a completely different perspective of Ronda. This unique walking trail takes you along the steep rock walls of the gorge, offering stunning views of the famous bridge and the surrounding natural beauty.
It's an unforgettable experience for anyone visiting Ronda who wants to discover the city in a truly special way.
What Makes This Walk So Special?
Walking through the gorge gives you a real sense of just how impressive Ronda's landscape is. The towering cliffs, the Guadalevín River and the magnificent Puente Nuevo bridge create a truly breathtaking setting.
What makes this route so unique is that instead of simply looking down into the gorge from the city, you actually descend into the landscape that makes Ronda so famous.
Along the way, you'll find fantastic opportunities to take photographs. The view of Puente Nuevo from below is particularly spectacular and one you won't soon forget.
